The NokiaN78 combines music, navigation and photography with the benefits of mobility. The Nokia N78 cell phone is designed to take advantage of the new suite of Nokia services, including the Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps, and Share on Ovi - a new online service that enables consumers to share their personal media

the Nokia’s N78 Digital Music Player application supports well known audio formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and WMA. Full length tracks can be downloaded to the N78 without the need for a PC through Nokia’s Music Store, or you can transfer files (licence permitting) from a compatible PC. Support for OMA DRM 2.0 and WMDRM are supported for purchased tracks.

NokiaN78 has integrated stereo speakers for listening to music, or you can keep it to yourself with a Bluetooth headset (A2DP stereo audio supported), or a wired headset. A 3.5mm Nokia AV connector allows you to plug regular headphones straight into the N78 cellphone, no need for unsightly adapters. A stereo FM radio is built in to the handset, as well an FM transmitter for streaming audio to a radio. This functionality is often offered through accessories and is one of the first times it has been built-in.

The N78 supports all 2G networks (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz), and two 3G networks (WCDMA 900/2100MHz). The GPRS and EDGE protocols can be used to connect to the Internet when roaming on a 2G network, with HSDPA and WCDMA data available on 3G networks. Nokia Web Browser makes it easy to browse made-for-PC websites thanks to its Mini-Map and Visual History functions.
